Checkout Tim Tebow’s New Children’s Book!

Friends!  Look no further if you’re on the hunt for a new children’s book either for a gift, or for your family, or friends.  This book is a beautiful visual of appreciating our differences, what friendship looks like, what teamwork looks like, and how we can learn to see ourselves as God does...

The book?  Bronco and Friends:  A Party to Remember by Tim Tebow, with A.J. Gregory, illustrated by Jane Chapman.

I learned about this book thanks to watching a recent interview Tim did with Eric Metaxas.  Here’s the link if you’re interested.

John and I’ve been blessed to hear Tim speak at our church.  I’ve long been a fan of his, even tho’ I’m not very sports-minded (!!!), but what’s consistently impressed me about Tim is how bold he is about his faith.

He does countless interviews as well as speaking engagements. He ALWAYS gives God the glory and shares numerous testimonies from his own life and ministry. (Remember my last post about the “privilege of the platform” and always sharing the Gospel?)

The Tim Tebow Foundation “exists to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.”  One of many events Tim’s orchestrated is the Night to Shine.  Checkout information on this and other events on www.timtebowfoundation.org

So, let’s talk a little about this new book.  (After watching Tim’s interview with Eric, I ordered copies for our grand angels for Valentine’s Day. Not that it’s passed, this book would make a great Easter gift!) What I especially like beyond the message, which we’ll get to in a minute, is the beauty of the colorful illustrations.  I find them captivating—they immediately make you smile.

You’ll get to meet several characters, all animals, and see how they’re brought together.  Tim’s own dog was the inspiration behind Bronco’s character.

Bronco is an adorable dog who has misplaced his glasses. This proves to be a problem when his friends remind him he needs a puzzle piece to get him into an upcoming party.  Poor Bronco figures he can’t go since he can’t find the puzzle piece.

Enter more darling characters such as Alexis the goat who repeatedly sneezes, a toe tapping Pig, Chelsea the rabbit whose big ears seem to get in the way, Ethan the cardinal who has a broken wing, and Colby the panda bear, among others.

Bronco amazingly leads them to the party, each one helping one another out, as they discover their differences are what make them all such a great team. When they were down on themselves, the others take it upon themselves to be sure they know what their gifts did to help them all get to the party.

You’ll Iove their adventure!  Each page has multiple animals, insects, what-have-you that are fun to point out.

The Scripture the book centers around is Ephesians 2:10 that says,

Ephesians 2 10.jpg

My Life Application Bible explains this verse by saying, “We are God’s handiwork (work of art, masterpiece). Our salvation is something only God can do. It is His powerful, creative work in us. If God considers us His masterpieces, we dare not treat ourselves or others with disrespect or as inferior work.”

The ending of the book will help you expound on its point about our individual giftedness. It harkened me back to those famous lines from the movie, The Help:  “You is kind, you is smart, you is important...,” only this is how Tim reminds us:

“You are unique.
You are special.
And you are wonderful.”

Maybe we all need to be reminded of this!

Now you know how I like to close:  Run, don’t walk to your nearest bookstore and grab Bronco and Friends:  A Party to Remember!

‘Til next time!
